Hi folks,

I know this is probably old stuff, but i am @ my wits end. I have an xp pc that has norton av corp 7.6 on it. I have tried everything i know (not much) to remove this but i still keep finding it on my list of programs on my "add/remove". This is the deal, I used the manual removal instructions and the removal tool and did a search on the hard drive for "norton" & "symantec" and removed everything i found. it still remains in the "add/remove" list and when I try to install the newer version the install is interupted and presents a message indicating that the older version must be removed before completing the newer install. I believe this was a client/server install with this pc being the client. It continues to ask for the cd or network path to a file NAVCE.MSI. Can i get this file by itself or is there another way to remove the remainder of the 7.6 corp av?? anything will help. thanks in advance.

Assuming you have already

Assuming you have already seen this, but here it is again just in case. I am looking for more info on this too, but as you said this is fairly old so it is proving to be someone difficult to get good info on it.

msiexec.exe /q/x

msiexec.exe /q/x {BD12EB47-DBDF-11D3-BEEA-00A0CC272509}

This is the command to uninstall the client version of SAV 7 silently, but I am not sure it will be of help now since it seems you have already uninstalled/deleted parts of the pre-existing SAV 7. Also do you have the ability to reinstall SAV 7 again if need be? I know that seems like a step in the wrong direction, but maybe a clean install would allow us to uninstall it more easily than hunting down some registry key or obscure file.

.

Try cleaning your registry. Get Ccleaner or something.

Please use the Microsoft Clean Up Utility

You may also want to try the Norton Removal Tool.

Downlaod the NONAV tool from

Downlaod the NONAV tool from Symantec (they have a NONAV tool for each version) - I still have the old one for 7.6 NAV Corp - it is basically a script that removes all files including registry from your PC.  Surest way to remove SAV/NAV from your PC...

RE: How Do I Remove Norton AV Corporate 7.6 from my PC?

My script in the download section will perform the silent uninstall of NAV Corp 7.6 that Grant was suggesting.   I ran into the same trouble when installing Symantec Endpoint.

If you're still having trouble, go through the manual removal one more time and double check that you've removed everything, all related registry entries..etc.
