I think this might be the solution to my dilemma in the post,
"Error 1603 during script execution; but bat file runs fine manually. What gives?"

How do I run a DS task as the (current) logged in user?

Under Client Run Environment > Production - Client installed OS > Security context ...

I only see a setting for Default and Specific user ... no setting for "Logged in user"? Unless it's somewhere I don't know about. Thanks!

You would have to setup the job with the credentials of the currently logged on user. You can't set a job to run as whatever user happens to be logged on.

Also I'm locking this thread. Please keep posts for a problem in the same thread as the initial problem. I gets very confusing when you start cross-posting like this.
