How do I run inventory from client?

Does someone know how to run inventory from the client in 7.1?  With 6.9, I click on the Inventory Agent Package and click one of the Application Tasks like "Add Remove Programs Inventory" or "Software Inventory".

Some info on this is here:

The article relates to a computer that is not managed.  This computer is.  Is there no other way for a user to run an inventory like 6.9?

Not that I can find or am aware of anyway, other than sending the basic inventory. If a policy exists from the server, updating the configuration from the client would initiate an inventory if it applied to it. I don't believe the functionality you are looking for exists in 7.1 versions.

You'll need to use a task or policy.  There isn't a way to kick off a software or hardware inventory as you could in previous versions.

Can Software Delivery Task perform an inventory after installing X so I can quickly know which computers installed X or do I have to wait until the next scheduled time inventory is ran?

You can create a Policy to run inventory:

and you should then be able to run it from the agent.

If you use a Managed Software Delivery Policy to deliver the Software you can add a Task to run inventory afterwards. If you get the Policy to run the compliance chack daily make sure you create a Filter of machines with Software xx and exclude that from the Target.

I create ad-hoc Tasks to run Inventory anyway, that way you don't need to run Inventory from the client, you can do it from the console.
