  • 1.  How do I switch from SQL db to LOCAL db?

    Posted Jul 08, 2016 11:23 AM

Hi, we're re-using a database from an older SEPM server on a new SEPM server, and after I did this, I can no longer get into my old server to get some of the settings.  I need to switch (or create) a local database for it, so I went into the database settings and tried to change it from SQL to Local, and the option to do so is ghosted.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks,
    Dan

you can create a Embedded (local) database, only upon a fresh install. if you want to restore the old SQL database, you need to take a backup of SQL database from the SEPM server's database backup and restore wizard. then once you have installed your SEPM afresh you can restore the database backup. please be sure to take the server privatekey backup as well.
