I keep getting an update notification in the bottom right of the screen saying there is an update. By when i press the "more" button" on the notification it does nothing.

When I tried to log into the PGP LEMS system it now redirects to:

    https://licensing.symantec.com/acctmgmt/pgpLandingPage.jsp

    which says the following:

The PGP LEMS Portal has moved to the Symantec Licensing Portal.

It gives 3 steps to follow to get a new Symantic account information.

    1. Step 1 is to enter your email address to get new Symantic account information. I did that and was emailed a new account# at Symantic.

    2. Step 2 says to go to the Symantic Licensing Portal to log in. -- i did this and logged in. Where do I go now? I see there is a "Get License Key -> Version Updage" tab, and a "Get Software" tab, but it's not clear. At both of those tabs it's asking for a Serial number.

    3. Step 3 says this:

IMPORTANT: The Symantec Licensing Portal recognizes licenses by their Serial Number, which is equivalent to a PGP entitlement or reference number. This entitlement or reference number can be found on your order confirmation provided at the time of purchase. This number will also be shown on renewal notifications if you purchased via an authorized PGP reseller.

I looked on the offical order confirmation slip from PGP at the time of purchase and there is no "PGP entitlement or reference number". There is a "PGP Order Number", and "Customer" number but those don't get recongized by the Symantic site as valid Serial numbers.

Where do I go once I've logged into the Symantic Licensing Portal and where do I find the  "PGP entitlement or reference number"? What's it look like?

    Thanks.

This is one of the worst transitions I've ever seen.

None of the accounts match up on the legacy LEMS server, so I can't retrieve a license for a re-install.

Symantec's system doesn't actually recognize the reference numbers as serial numbers, and most of the licensing site doesn't work properly in the first place.

I figured I'd skip the whole hassle and just buy a new license and you can't even do that, they don't sell it.

What kind of company won't even sell you a new product, especially when they've neglected to provide their end of the contract for the original?

I had exactly the same problem.

To add your license to the Symantec Portal click on 'Get a License Key' then 'New and Renewal Purchases'. When you purchased the PGP license/s they should have e-mailed you an order confirmation. On this confirmation there should be an 'Entitlement Information' field with the number of 'Seats' and an 'Entitlement.No'. This Entitlement. No is what Symantec call a Serial Number. Enter the number into the portal and click 'Submit'. It should then display your License. Click on 'View Details' from the end of the license record. Make a note of your customer number. Repeat this process for all your PGP licenses.

Now under 'Manage My Licenses' and 'License Management' under the 'Search your License Catalog' heading simply enter your 'Customer Number' and click 'Search'. This should then show the licenses you added to the portal.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the instructions, Andrew.

A customer letter was to go out to all "technical contacts" in our records, containing serial numbers that work in FileConnect. While they should have gone out on the cutover date, there was apparently a delay in some regions.

If Andrew's instructions don't work, you can also contact Customer Care:

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/assistance_care.jsp

    Telephone:
    800.721.3934 or 541.335.7023

    Business Hours:
    5AM to 5PM PST (M-F)

    Language:
    English

Information is available by region, so please use the above link to select the appropriate region if you are not in the United States.

    Same problem here.

I cant work this out.  I dont see the  entitlement number in the pdf file i received.  Its a real mess this change over.

Is there anywhere else to download the latest PGP version from?.  I dont understand why the physical download is hidden since you need a valid  licence to use it anyway

Ok, so i think it's clear *alot* of people did not recieve -any- information.

Here's a thought, why doesnt Symantec POST this information on the PGP support pages? like hey there's an ongoing issue for downloading PGP software contact Customer support (then provide a link to either call or submit a ticket!) novel thought i know. but really guys, this is a huge screw up. it's -still- not resolved.

There's a workaround in place (i know) but really how will i be notifed when it will be fixed for real?

OK.  I couldn't get the above to work but found this worked for me:

    1) Login to symantec's licencing portal

    2) Click "Manage My Licenses" (top of page)

    3) The First search area is titled "Search Your License Catalog".  Do not enter/change any information on this page just click on " Advanced Search" (brown text)

    4) You are now on the "Search Licence Catelog" page

    5) Again do not enter/change any information on this page.  The first area is titled "Search By License Details"  Click the "Search" button (Its on the right as you scroll down, its the FIRST search button on the page, there are 3 on the page)

    6) The next page now shows me all my current licences and gives me access to the downloads (select view details)

    Hope this helps others

Wow, thank you. I spent a few hours searching for this. Why cant they just give the list straight away instead of having to be so cryptic?!?

I still cant download the software since the java applet they use crashes every time, but at least I have my serial number and license key back.
