Hi

We using Deployment solution 7.1 sp1

Till date we just using image capturing and image deployement feature.

We want to do pc transplant so how we proceed for that can someone guide us we are new in that

There is a task for PCT in the Jobs and task page by the name 'Capture Personality' for capturing personality and  'Distribute Personality'  for distribute;

You can capture client computers personality using this task , You need to provide Personality name , and need to select the template as per your requirement ;

You can find a PCT directory at \Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Agents\Deployment\Task Handler\PCTPackages , This directory contains Packages and configuration settings.

You can use different tools available at this location to Crete templates for custom applications.

But before capturing personality we have to make a pbt file, if i am not wrong. I created that also.

I deploy the image on test desktop I given the 3 task

1) deploy image

2) reboot to production

3) distribute personality

but after successfully deploying the image all drives are deleted what command line shall I use to deploy image only on C drive

I do not want to touch on other drives

You have 2 or more partitions on a drive and trying to deploy the image to that? Is the image also just of one partition? Then you could use a command line switch in advanced settings of the deploy image task.

Go to Advanced > Command-Line and write 1:1 in the Destination disk field. The first 1 is the first disk in the system, the second 1 will be the first partition of that disk. Else there is also folder preservation to keep a folder on the system while reimaging.

I was taken rdeploy image and it is resolve by using -kp1, -kp2 command line.

Now I have a another challenge If I want distribute multiple personality at same time what are the steps for that

In what way multiple personalities? You can capture all user settings in one big personality file of one computer and distribute all then. Or if you take them from several computers, just add another distribute personality task after the first one and choose the personality file.
