  • 1.  How to do an unattended install of Ghost

    Hi Everyone,

I really need simple and clear instrcutions on how to create a file for unattended installations of Ghost.

We have a Ghost image on all our PC's ( D drive) that we can select if the PC needs to be rebuilt. This Ghost image is displayed as an option under the Windows Operating System when the PC boots up.

I would like to start the installation manually and have the unattended file (or answer file) complete the rest of the installation.

Can I create an answer or unattended file and put it in the directory where Ghost is on the PC and install the Ghost image?

Thank you for taking the time to read this and post your responses.

Is your D: drive bootable?  In order to install a Ghost image, you need to be booted to (ideally) WinPE, and then you can have WinPE configured to automatically reimage the C: drive.  I assume you are using Ghost 11.5.1.2266 and not a Norton product (which is supported elsewhere.).

This article gives you an idea of what you can do to create a dual boot workstation - although it is based on XP, you can adapt this for any later operating system.
