How do you change the default appearance of clients in SEP 11 MR4 Manager?
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 7 comments
I am starting to roll out SEP 11 MR4 and noticed when you view the clients in the Manager using the Client Status or Protection Technology views, the clients appear to sort based on the order they were installed. They are then in pages of 30 clients. If I then sort by client name, it only sorts for the page of 30 clients I am on, not all clients.
How can I sort all clients by client name and then either page through them or change the number of clients that are viewable on one page? I really miss the viewing layout of Corp Edition 10.1 and the ability to right click on a client to view logs, etc!!

Unfortunately you cant. The only other way is to run a report, export it to a CSV file and then view it. Even I wish it'd be easier to do like it was in SAV.....god how I miss the reporting server's flexibility.....

You can set the "Maximum number of clients displayed per page" on the "Set Display Filter" task of a group and it propagates down to sub-groups.
Thanks
The settings for display filter helps. Even when setting to 100 which shows all clients deployed so far, it still sorts by default by the order the clients were installed. This makes no sense. I can at least then click on the name column header to sort by it.

You arent the only one. There are alot of people who miss the SAV console sort features.

Shame ...
Man, this one was driving one of my co-workers crazy today. He didn't notice that there was a second page and simply couldn't find a machine. Of course he was sorting by name, knowing it was early in the alphabet. The fact that it could fall on a separate page didn't occur to him at all.
I'd call this one unintuitive to the point of being dysfunctional, or a bug.
It also frustrates me that it only sorts one direction. You can't click the header again and flip the results. Particularly in a case like logon client, where it prefers to sort in REVERSE alphabetical order for some reason.
Hm. Even after playing with this for a while, I'm still stumped. Can anyone explain to me how this would work? I'm getting two separate problems:
1) I can't find an appropriate report that gives me a list of computer names in a group.
2) The only save options for the reports that I've generated are to save as a .mht (self-contained HTML) file. I can't find a CSV export option at all.
If anyone could point me in the right direction for either of those, it would be much appreciated.
Hi rpatty, I feel your
Hi rpatty,
I feel your frustration bro...
What we do is to export computer status or risk and then use the IP address to sort by site...
or by sorting via SEPM server, if you have a separate server per location...
else, hope you had grouped the clients accordingly to sort by groups while in excel.
MANUALLY... everything manually...
Hope this would be solved and done with...
thanks...
