How do you remove target computers from Altiris Agent Plug-Ins

Created: 21 Nov 2012 | 3 comments

I had an issue where I needed to update the PC Anywhere plug-in on some specific systems. I had added the computer names to the Plug-In however no longer need to have theses systems listed. How do you remove a list of target computers from a plug-in? (see attachment for example)

Not sure what you are trying to achieve.

If the plug in install has run on the target computers it will not run again unless the default schedule has been changed.

You can edit the Target of the plug-in install policy to remove the computers in the same way you edited it to add them. You need to change the "View" to "Targets", select the Target containing the computers you now want to exclude from the Target and click the yellow pencil edit icon, which appears when you select the "Targets" view.

This won't uninstall the plug in.

Normally I have the target set to "Windows Computers with no PCAnywhere plug-in Installed" however had to push out the client to some specific computers. If I flip from Targets to Computers, it lists the specific computers I have added. I don't want to uninstall the plug-in on these computers, I just want to remove the specific computers under the Computers view. I only added these computers for a one time fix. Normally the computers would get the policy from the "Windows Computers with no PCAnywhere plug-in Installed". Bascially I just want to clean up the policy to that it is back to just applying to the target and not both target and specific computers

Just change the View back to "Targets" and you should be able to remove what you added and put back the default.
