How to download 10.2.1 MP4 (latest) installer from my Universal Server?

Created: 15 Oct 2012 | 1 comment

I'm running Universal Server 3.2.1 (Build 4461).

I'm updating the OS on some Macs to 10.7.x and wanted to install the latest PGP Desktop client software from my Universal Server. When I go to Consumers > Download Client, I have no idea what version I am downloading until I unpack the .tar.gz file. When I do, I can only check the Release Notes which says it's version 10.2.1.

How can I get a "managed installer" of the latest 10.2.1 MP4?

Does my Universal Server automatically download client updates, like centralized anti-virus systems do?

On my Macs, when I choose About PGP Desktop, it says version 10.2.1 [Build 4461]. Is that effectively MP0?

I can download the 10.2.1 MP4 installer from FileConnect but then how can I create a "managed installer" that knows to communicate with my Universal Server?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Server updates are not automatic, you will need to manually upgrade your server to 3.2.1 MP4 to get access to the latest managed installers http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH187067

There are also ways to modify the fileconnect client installer to make it a managed installer that communicates with your universal server. http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO79578

Here's a list of all of the PGP client build numbers - http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH183249
