  • 1.  How to enable Web Services API on DLP Enforce Server

    Posted Jan 17, 2013 09:26 AM

I am working with a client and we are trying to get the CCS Connector to work with DLP.  I don't know much about DLP, but a requirement that we have is that the Web Services APIs for DLP need to be enabled.   Are the Web Services API's enabled by default or is there something that needs to be done in order to enable them?  Any help would be appreciated.

The Web Services API is enabled by deafult howver you do need to give that access to the users role. On the Roles screen on the general tab look for Incident Reporting and Update API.

We have given our service account the Reporting API role and the Symantec Protection Center role as well.  Created a report from the Incidencts - All built-in report and saved it.   Then entered in the report ID in the connector, but we are getting the following message on when we try to run the job that will import the DLP data:

Job Exception Occurred:  There was no endpoint listening at https://172.20.94.162/ProtectManager/services/reporting that could accept a message.  This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action.

    Hi CM,

Web Services API is enabled by deafult howver but u need to configure and give access setting to it.

The Incident Reporting and Update API is a Web service that allows client applications to read and update incident data stored in a Symantec Data Loss Prevention deployment. The API is available with Symantec Data Loss Prevention version 11.6 and later.
