This issue has been solved. See solution.
Hi All,
Does anyone here know if the SEP client for Linux 1.0.14 is the latest version ?
I will need to deploy it to 50+ of our Red Hat Linux and Solaris 8,9 and 10 SPARC and x86 architecture as well. What is the best way to deploy it correctly and to make sure that it communicates to the Windows LUA server that I set ?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, 1.0.14 is the latest SAVFL version per this KB article:
System requirements for Symantec AntiVirus for Linux 1.0
Check out all of Mick2009's articles on SAVFL. They're the best you will find and give you all the info you need. The Part 3 Guide will show you how to update the defs with LUA. Big Thumbs up to Mick for these!

Cool, glad to hear that.
I wish that the deployment can be simplified just like we deploy SEP client for Windows.

Hi John,
SAVFL will protect the Red Hat machines, but for Solaris, HP-UX etc you are best off goign for Symantec Critical System Protection.
The best way to check if the SAVFL machines are getting their defs correctly from LUA is to make sure SAVFL Reporter is installed on all of them and then run a report from the SEPM for All Non-Windows machines. Check the defs version on that. (Cheers to Brian for sharing the link to the Part 4 article, above! That illustrates exactly the report that I mean....)
With thanks and best regards,
Mick
