1.We need to find license infrom from SEP client console.  How to check SEP client is licensed  or not?

2.In Client activity log ,under Even type it is showing as invalid licenses. But we have extra licenses more tahn 1000+. why in client acitivty log it is showing as invalid.

3. In some systems in taskbar , got notification that Endpoint protection was turned off. Click the balloon to enable it and got this message: PFA screen shot.but when we open the client console, defs are upto date and no error motification in SEP console. why this type of notifications are diaplaying when client is installed properly.

  1. Check that the .SLF file is in either one of the following folders:

    • For the clients that run on a pre-Vista version of Windows: Drive:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\silo_identification\Data\Config

    • For the clients that run on Vista or a laster version of Windows:Drive:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\silo_identification\Data\Config

You can also include the .SLF file as part of a third-party deployment package.

Hi San1985,

Please mention SEPM and SEP client version details.

SEP 11.x licensing is basically just a "paper" license product.  However, with SEP 12.1 the licensing is a "software" license product and uses a  license file.

Hello,

1.We need to find license infrom from SEP client console.  How to check SEP client is licensed  or not?

Check the SEP.slf under

For XP clients:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.1000.157.105\Data\Config

For Vista or a later version of Windows:

Drive:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\silo_identification\Data\Config

2.In Client activity log ,under Even type it is showing as invalid licenses. But we have extra licenses more tahn 1000+. why in client acitivty log it is showing as invalid.

Make sure the SEPM is able to connect to these websites:

License activation: URL that SEP uses to verify if the license being used is current and active.
Licensing: URL SEP uses to check the license status.

3. In some systems in taskbar , got notification that Endpoint protection was turned off. Click the balloon to enable it and got this message: PFA screen shot.but when we open the client console, defs are upto date and no error motification in SEP console. why this type of notifications are diaplaying when client is installed properly.

Is there policy on the SEPM restricting the Users to Disable / Enable SEP?

To prevent user from disabling SEP features check following article

https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/how-disable-sep-features-client-gui-sep-121

Public KB also available

If yes, you may face this issue.

Hope that helps!!

Hi,

You should disable notifications alert through SEPM console.

Check the assigned policy settings.
