Are you guys ever going to install an "update" button or somethig similar so that we can know when updates are avilable for PGP?  The only way I can find out now is by running around trying to find this website here (as opposed to any of the other Norton or Symantec websites), then I got to remember my log in name and password.

This is a HUGE hassle and this will only encourage people to download illegal copies if you people do not make the process easier.

The problem is that the legacy from the old licensing models from PGP have remained.  They are perpetual licenses. You need a valid license to be eligible for upgrades, but all licenses that get installed are the same according to the software.

They would have to completely rewrite the licensing model for the software in order for some sort of auto-update to work.

FYI - there is an auto update function for the managed client, just not for the standalone.

    Hi Heywood,

To receive notification, you can go to the Technical Support page http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=home, select your product (type Encryption in the search box and select the product), go to View Product Alerts, and once there subscribe for product alerts in the upper-right section of the page.
    For Encryption Desktop: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=productlanding&key=62377
    The Alerts page: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&key=62377&channel=ALERTS

I would suggest you to post an Idea here: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/security/ideas
If you have the possibility to open a Technical Support case, please do it and file a Feature Request, this would bring traction to this request.

    Thank you and regards,
    dcats

I would suggest contact licensing Haywood. They should be able to help you find where to dowload the updates if you are still paying for an active maintenance agreement (or you have a perpetual license).

    Regards,
