  • 1.  How to fix Non Reporting Status?

    Posted Apr 13, 2009 12:06 PM

My computer has the Management Console installed on it as well as being a client.  The client hasn't been able to communicate with the Management Console to update the Proactive Threat Protection and on the Home page of the Management Console my computer shows up under the Non Reporting Status.  How do I fix this problem?  There is also an unexpected server error in the admin tab under Servers:  Error Code: 0x1001000 [Site: My Site] [Server: dcs10990].  I'm assuming this has something to do with the fact that my computer won't process any updates.  We don't have a server here so I installed the management console and the client  onto my computer and I wonder if I should have done it differently?

    HI symend
if You are using Windows server edition operating system then proactive threat protection will allways be off so don't worry about that but if  it is a client os like windows xp then you might have some problem in your installation. so remove SEP and create a fresh installation package and install it which should solve this problem of  PTP. and for the server error check your firewall . please read the documentation first before installation which is given in the cdrom.

    HI Symend,

I agree with Bijay. Also it is not a good practise to install NTP/PTP on servers. it has to be purely AV/AS

If you facing this issue on multiple servers then you can create a package in SEPM, and select only AV/AS, and in settings select to remove old logs/settings and then re-deploy to all of your servers.

This is remove AV/NTP from your servers and install a fresh copy of AV/AS.

I've tested the same and it is working here.
