  • 1.  How to get a mail report for clients with old definitions ?

    Posted Feb 24, 2011 02:02 PM

    Hello folks,

Does anyone knows how to create a scheduled report for virus definitions distribution that shows the hostnames of the outdated clients ?

I'm able to generate such a report at Monitor/Logs or at Reports/Quick reports page without much effort.

But, what if I want to have this report monthly at my mailbox ?

I'm trying to create a scheduled report using :

    Report type = Computer status
    Report = Virus definitions distribution
and define filter using Definitions date = older than the last 30 days for e.g.

Then I receive an email with a summary page attached with the amount of outdated clients for each SEPM, but what about the hostnames ???

I don't think this is possible, unfortunately. Scheduled reports, by design, aren't going to give you specifics... that's what the SEPM console is for.

You might search our Idea forums to see if someone else has brought this up as an enhancement request and give them your vote.

    You can create a notification:

Monitors | Notifications tab | Notification Conditions | Add and then select Virus definitions out-of-date

From here you can edit accordingly. However, you can only set the damper to a max of 10 hours.

That's about the best you will get in terms of getting it mailed to you.

Yeap... so far, Notifications are the best approach, but I’ll got the mail only when if there’s a problem…

Any other suggestion for a monthly-mail-report with hostnames ?

no host names as of now..create  computer status report , export it as .txt then rename it to .csv..

    sort the definition files....

    Hi.

You might want to look into SQL stored procedures.

read the raw data in your db as per the db schema doc & build your own query that SQL then runs on a regular interval.

Since that's currently not possible , I've created an IDEA :

If you need it/like it , please vote !
