    Posted Mar 10, 2013 10:34 PM

Hi guys, my company just recently get a project to upgrade the SEPM 11 to 12. And the problem I am facing now is we dont have the encryption password cause the previous IT admin who installed it has resign and couldnt get any information from him.

I did do alot of research as like https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/recover-dba-password or https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/how-find-database-password-odbc. Both I did try the way they teach but  the problem is I couldn't get the string you guys mention.

    Is there any solution?

    Hi,

You have already tried to refer the steps suggested in this article

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/recover-dba-password

Unfortunately I don't think there is any other way to recover the DB password.

    You can promote this idea:

I am afraid if you cannot recover the password using the php.ini "trick", your only way our is to install the SEPM 12.1 new from scratch and reconnect the orphaned SEP clients using either sylink replacer tool or by replacing the communications settings on them:
