  • 1.  How to get Norton Seal at the end of e-mail in Outlook

    Posted May 20, 2015 06:02 AM

I am looking to get AVG like footer in end of every email which AVG scanned through its E-mail sheild.

I am using Symantec Endpoint Protection and at backend i am using MDaemon E-Mail Server.

Can anyone guide me, when SEP scan every outgoing email for my SMTP port it shows progress bar on right side of desktop.

but it never shows SEAL or sometime of footer at the End of e-mail

    which mention phrase like below:

"This E-mail is scanned with SEP and found Clean"

i am looking something like above.

    Please guide for solution.

I am not see that option in SEPM but you can check below articles

    Configuring Internet Email Auto-Protect

The only thing you can do is put a message in the email if a detection is found. This is configurable from within the AV polict for the Outlook scanner.

if its not possible then dont you people think this is a major missing feature of SEP

Verisign Seal is present on Norton SSL checked website

but e-mail SEAL not exist, i hope the future version include this feature in Auto Protect...

    Hi,

SEP only protects the OS from threats, and does not scan emails themselves.  For email scanning you'll need something like the below products but if email attachment contains any threat/suspicious file autoprotect can catch it.

    http://www.symantec.com/messaging-gateway/

    http://www.symantec.com/mail-security-for-microsoft-exchange/

Go through this article as well: About SEP Auto-Protect and email scanning

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH95093

So I think what you are expecting might not be possible to implement in SEP, however you are welcome to post it as an idea.

    Dear Brian

Port 110 (incoming POP) non SSL

and port 25 (outgoing SMTP) non SSL

SEP scans both, and even show progress bar when it scans attachments before email sent.

Below is the link for submitted idea (alongwith 2 more ideas in same regard)

Correct. But only for Email scanning. (POP/SMTP)

I'm talking about Outlook and Notes Auto-Protect.
