  • 1.  How to insatll SEP Components

    Hi All,

    Good Day!

    I am runinng SEP 12.1 in the network.

    I have installed only Virus and Spyware Protection component on the servers. I wanted to see if the SEP client will work along with the applications and such.

    After my observation, now I have created exceptions and specific policies for specific group servers. I am trying to install the other components like Proactive Threat Protection and Network Threat Protection on to these servers. However, I am unable to do so. 

    My query is that, do I need to uninstall the existing client and reinstall with the additional components. Or can I just push the package with all the components up on to the existing client. I have two packages in SEPM, one with Basic protection (Only Virus and Spyware Protection) and the other with Full protection. (All components). 

    Please suggest.

    You can just push the new package with desired components over the existing client. No need to remove the previous installation.

    You can also add features to existing clients if needed. See this KB article:
