Symantec Management Platform (Notification Server)

I have one user he use XP 64 bit, so when I installed altiris on his machine, it did not show c:\program files\Altiris, instead of show c:\program files(x86)\Altiris.

He can not use carbon copy, because he try to right click on machine he try to remote connect to, it show blinking away, it did not have proper screen show up.

How can I take care of this problem.

Hi Lillian,
That would be the expected behavior on a 64bit system, since the Altiris Agent is a 32bit program, and it is installing under 32bit compatibility mode. I don't see anything in regards to what you are mentioning, as far as it being a known issues.
When you install the agent are you using the agent push option? You can configure during the intial pop-up screen an override on where to install the agent to. I don't know if that will fix your problem.

That method doesn't allow changing the drive. You will either need to push it, or install it manually. If you do a manual install, follow the directions here: https://kb.altiris.com/article.asp?article=31775&p=1

I have asked Altiris\NpoS if there are any known issues with Carbon Copy and 64bit systems.

Carbon Copy is not supported on 64bit systems. The replacement, PC Anywhere, will support it, but only when NS7 ships.

it did not install at all.

I even use the path

http://altirisserver/altiris/ns/agent/altirisagentdownload.asp

it did not install at all either.


What should I do next?
