there is no seperate installation required for Database agents starting from 7.X and never for Windows.

just go ahead and install the netbackup 7.5 backup client software with latest patch.

and start the configuration.

reffer the netbackup for oracle admin guide for configurations.

NetBackup Client installation is covered in NBU for Unix Installation Guide:

Hi Khadar,

As Nagalla advised we dont reqd any spl db agents for windows frm 7.x

for unix please refer above link whichz provided by Marianne

1)verify compatibilities for os and oracle for NBU.

2)Install nb client s/w  and verify it is operational

and same way Oracle server s/w must be installed and operational.

one or more oracle instance must exist to back it up.

3)Add oracle licence in the master server.

on the Master sever open NBU Admin console-

go to help-click on clicence keys-click on new and ADD all required licence keys.

4)Oracle windows is not required linking.

NBU s/w for windows installs the database plug in as .dll.

so the only reqmt for windows is to restart the oracle services so that oracle use NBU library.

5)work with your oracle DBA to configure the oracle backups

Hope this helps

Hey MvdB...its a windows client, not Unix! Either way it makes no difference, the client is the client it contains everything. Which explains its size.

Thanks for the correction Jim! No idea how I missed that!
