how to installe Lotus Notes Agent

Hello,

I've installed BackupExec 2012 with some licences files and the "agent for application and database" but i can't install this agent on my lotus notes server !

The only agent i see is the "windows agent" and i can't backup my Lotus Databases

Is someone can help me ?

You need to install Agent for Lotus\Domino license on the media server and the remote agent for

windows on the Lotus\Domino server. Remote agent for Windows is used for backing up all the

MS applications, its only the license key which differentiates the functionality of the agent.

Thanks for this answer,

I 've already try this solution but it's impossible to backup My Lotus Databases. When i try, the credentials failed and and tryed lot of windows or lotus credentials (i think windows domain admin account should be correct ?)

In addition to the "agent for application and database", do you have a licence for the Domino agent that you need to install?  Also, in the options, did you select the Domino agent option in addition to the "agent for application and database"

I've licence for "agent for application and database"

but i can't find other Domino agent option you talk about !

Hi

Yes there is no seprate Domino option to check

What you can do is to confirm domino is option is selected you can click on backupexec icon on left hand side & click on installation & licensing & then click on license information which will show you domino option installed

Are you able to see domino database icon when you expand the domino server & which you are not able to expand?

If that is the case you will have to debug it to find more information on it

Domino agent is installed. But something curious "agent for applications and databases" is licenced but not installed !!  if you see my other post, it's installed !

yes i'm able to see lotus databases but can't expand it :

 

How can i debug ? do you know some tools to do it ?

Hi

 

On Media server you can go to c-program file-symantec-backupexec-look for sgmon.exe & check the box with engine, device media ,server, 3rd party o/p & capture to file

Also do same on remote Domino server if domino is on remote m/c were open sgmon tool & here check the box only engine & 3rd party o/p & capture to file

Now from backupexec try to expand domino server & database & sgmon would log of what is going on

Now once you see the error then stop debug of sgmon on both the server & then in logs directory of backupexec you will see sgmon.log on both the server you can check the log or also you can post both the logs here

As the screenshot pasted by you are in non -english it is bit difficult for me to understand what error exactly you are getting

EDIT : Ok I find where is my probleme !!!

On my Lotus server I have 2 partitions and 2 Notes.ini one on C:\Lotus\Domino without informations exept Lotus version, and another one on D:\Lotus\Domino\data.

 

For test I replace the first by the second and everything work fine but My Lotus Admin don't want to replace it.

So how can i said to the agent that the NOTES.INI file it could used is the second one ?

But it doesn't work

The "Path" and "DataPath" in Domino registry keys and notes.ini are not correct. At least not at all mentioned places.

Hi

 

In your case you have 2 partitions & in your case it show 1 as partition so please check with Domino admin about it

 

And also I dont see anything in "Express"=""     [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lotus\Domino\1]

in your case it is blank

So you can add it

& then once made any changes restart all services on both the server or restart the domino server & restart services on backupexec & check

Hi,

 

on the c:\Lotus\Domino\Notes.ini , I just added the lines bellow :

NotesProgram=C:\Lotus\Domino
Directory=D:\Lotus\Domino\Data

 

restart service backup exec agent and Lotus notes

And everything work fine !!
