  • 1.  How to know and change the default value of preconfigured notifications?

    Posted Nov 13, 2012 10:21 AM

    Hi all,

I want to use the notification function In SEPM 12.1.

I noticed that there are many preconfigured notifications just like "Server health" or "Over-deployment issue" .

The condition of these preconfigured notifications is "system default value".

How could I know what the value exactly is? How could I modify the vaule?

    Thanks!

Where do you see this? Can you share a screenshot? I don't see this in my notifications.

    Hi Brian81,

    The screenshot is attached.

You can also see it in your environment by doing as follows:

SEPM Console - Monitor - Notifications - Notification condition

Thanks this is the first time I've noticed this...

I do know that if you open the alert and set the Damper to Auto, you will get an email right away, even though the condition still shows as System Default

    Damper settings:

The default damper period for notifications is Auto (automatic). If a notification is triggered
and the trigger condition continues to exist, the notification action that you configured is not
performed again for 60 minutes. For example, suppose you set a notification so that you are
emailed when a virus infects five computers within one hour. If a virus continues to infect your
computers at or above this rate, Symantec Endpoint Protection emails you every hour. The
emails continue until the rate slows to fewer than five computers per hour.

is this what you want to set?

    Hi Rafeeq,

    Thanks for your reply.

But what I mean is I want to know the exact vaule of these preconfigured notifications.

For example, System Health have a condition shows "System default vaule". I guess maybe it means 90% CPU Usage or 95% RAM Usage will trigger the notification.

But how could I know the exact value and could I change it ?

    Hi,

I think it's not possible to change System default value.

Need to check more about the background rule for 'System Default'?

    Hi,

Do you know how to check the System Default Value?
