  • 1.  How many content revisions to keep?

    Posted Jul 21, 2016 04:41 PM

Hi, we just upgraded to SEP 12.1.6 RU6 MP5 (12.1.7004.6500), and I noticed that by default the number of content revisions to keep is set to 90.  This seems extraordinarily high.  We used to keep 10 in older versions.

Can someone tell me if this should stay at 90 or can we decrease it to something significantly lower without impacting a lot of full definition downloads?

    Thanks!

I'd keep it at the default (90 revisions = 30 days roughly). Starting with 12.1.5, the content revisions were significantly improved and should take up less space than before. Only one full set is now kept and deltas are built from it.

90 revisions would be 30 days worth of definitions if you are getting 3 updates per day which is what we put out and this takes up a very small amount of disk space. This is meant to help prevent network saturation if the clients go out of date and need a full definition.
