How to modify EV Server DNS alias?

Hi,
We are trying to create a work around for RPC Over HTTP access for vault cache, as discussed in https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/vault-cache-rpc-over-http-users
Thinking of modifying EV alias from ServerName.Local.Domain.com to ServerName.Domain.Com
How to modify the DNS alias from EV point of view?

In the
In the EnterpriseVaultDirectory database, you'd go to the ComputerEntry table and change the "ComputerName" column.
you'd have to make sure that your internal dns can also resolve this address so that you don't get RPC failures etc
As always, make backups and test in a lab environment if you can
