Hello all,

I would like to bring some customizations to linux preboot but i don't know how to make it. Do you know any kind of documentation to do that ?

Moreover, i can't be able to find the right source for the new Linux Preboot. Symantec do have a page (called Linux support or something of that kind) but the linux preboot 6.9 SP3 source link points in fact to 6.9 SP1 sources instead... (Fedora 2.6.18-8 based kernel instead of OpenSuse 2.6.27-7 based kernel).

I would like to add dmraid to that preboot.

Any help appreciated ^^.

Check AKB #32095 for basic configuration

 Hello Naboo,

I have not worked with LinPE for a long time, but there's at least one article of mine remaining for basic customisation:

https://kb.altiris.com/article.asp?article=32095&p=1

If you want to add drivers into your boot image you probably will have to recompile the Linux kernel unless they come in the form of modules?

We used to have documentation on the AKB on how to compile a new KErnel, but I can't find them right now.

I'll be researching the KB to see if some of these articles where expired.

Just got the compile AKB

Just got the compile AKB references: https://kb.altiris.com/article.asp?article=36079&p=1

I found it on top the 'Related technology' category on the AKB. That's always a good place to go to!

Also, regarding the DS 6.9 Linux preboot download

Also, regarding the DS 6.9 SP3 Linux preboot download:

You'll have to go to the Symantec web-site trialware page (linked here)  and select Infrastructure Operations > Deployment Solution ( for Clients or Servers - it's the same set of binaries).

Once you have authenticated you'll get access to the preboot files (Windows PE x86, Windows PE x64 and the frm file containing the Linux and Free DOS sources).
