  • 1.  How to Move Old server NS7.1 to New server NS7.1

    I need how to for move NS7.1 ser to new server different hardware but same OS ans SQL version. I try from document buy can move database only.

    And then when move database to new server finish. error and very many problem. After I cut old server agent cannot reconnect to new task server. Help me please. Thank you very mush.

    Hello, I can imagine that NS7.1 is equal to Netbackup Server 7.1? If the answer is positive I'll give you one of the solutions.

    1 - Make full backup of the NetBackup catalog.
    2 - Install the new server in Netbackup
    3 - Restore the catalog on the new server.

    I believe this is the easiest way to migrate between servers in Netbackup.

    He means Notication Server not Netbackup. Almost all of your data resides inside of the database in a NS environment. What you have to worry about is your packages, update packages mainly. Record all of your current locations that are configured, migrate them to the new server BEFORE you start the NS services under the new installation. That should pretty much do the trick. Also keep in mind any custom connector rules or reports will not migrate with the database, so export these before hand.
