  • 1.  How to move Server to another computer?

    Posted Nov 09, 2011 06:13 AM

    Hello everybody.

I have to perform upgrading my network from Windows server 2003 AD to Windows server 2008 AD. I have only one server in my network, wich have the following roles: domain controller, file server, fax server and Symantec Endpoint Protection SBE Server. I have one temporary computer to perform migration from 2003 to 2008.  I have already installed win2008 Server and Active Directory on this computer and now I have to move Symantec Endpoint Protection SBE Server from the old server to this one. With all data - clients list, etc. How I can do this? Can somebody give me a link to appropriate doc? I can't find it.

Thanks and sorry for my English.

When I installed new server and make it only one Domain Controller during migration from 2003 to 2008 AD, I had a problem with restoring database on W2K8 R2. When I was try to run "Backup and restore database" I received message "Could not find main class. Program will exit." I found on the forums that Disabling UAC is resolve this issue. Add please this information to the article "How to move the Symantec Protection Center from one server to a new server with a different host name and IP Address" and other articles were is described using "Backup and restore database". I think it will be usefull for everybody who need to backup or restore SPC on the 2008 server.

    Sorry for my English.
