better way is to compare with the same type of tapes used to take the backup of same type of data , which is repoting as Full.

and check how much of data it has written to mark as full and compare with the current medias that you are looking for.

reaching limt is always depends on the data compression..

any how netbackup will report once it got full, which you can check from GUI--> Media tap.

Use Tape List report.

When you have tapes that are are marked as FULL, you will have an indication of how much data can fit onto a tape in your environment.

Tape capacity depends on type of data getting backed up - some data types compress better than others.
