Just now I have tried scanning of my computer online symantec security scan for threats and i got the analysis report too. In that it says my all incoming traffic is allowed and its easy to hack the system by hackers. Then i created firewall rule and blocked ICMP and enabled Netbios protection, Anti spoofing then again I have scanned my system then gives me the analysis report says system is safe and protected against most common security threats.

    Refer the link http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/home.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym&plfid=23&pkj=WDNPEHYJTSOVNBALTOL

Are you just protecting one PC?

This is not the best or easiest way to protect an organization.

Norton Scan is fine for scanning for home use, but if you are protecting a business network, you need to be running many layers of security to protect your assets. What AV product are you running? Is there a built-in firewall in your AV product, or are you relying on the Windows firewall?

Its good for user to check what are the unwanted things allowed and whether the system is safe. And as per that the system admin can analyse and take corrective action to avoid irrespective traffic issues on the network.

    Hi Mahesh,

Thanks for sharing the information however as other said its only for home based clients..Even if you are running a AV scan using NSS its not foolproof as it will not have full access to your machine and number of False positive will be high
