Endpoint Protection

Hi.

I'm trying to obtain the current release of EP11.  (RU7, MP3)

When I enter the serial number from the certificate, I'm only seeing up to MP2 on fileconnect.

The client is legally licensed for Endpoint and is current..

Not sure why but I do see it out there on FC. I would suggest contacting the licensing team to get it rectified. It has been out for some time now.

Fileconnect should show the SEP 11.0.7300 as it was released in November' 2012.

Was the License transfered to the Latest Version of SEP 12.1??

One other question along these same lines.  On fileconnect for a newly renewed serial# that is a Small Business Protection Suite 4.0 license, I'm showing 12.1.2 MP1 as the lastest available download but on the support website I see 12.1 RU2 as the most recent.  Are these one and the same?

12.1.2 MP1 is the latest version. 12.1 RU2 is one version older.

No. SEP 12.1.2015 (RU2) is the Release Update, whereas 12.1.2 MP1 is the Maintainance Patch which needs to be installed on SEP 12.1.2015 (RU2)

So, if one looks at the version 12.1.2, the final "2" is considered the Release Update or "RU"?  So... when RU3 comes out we'd be looking at 12.1.3?

The MP just is a minor update?

Also, the Symantec website then has not yet posted up the MP1 for 12.1.2 yet as being the most recent release.

And lastly, on a client check I'm showing 12.1.2.2015.2015 listed as the version via Help/About.

How do you tell if a MP has been installed?

12.1 RU2 MP1 = 12.1.2100.2093 (last 4 digits are usually meaningless to the enduser!)

At one point Symantec had the version name (RU1) in the Help >> About. Seems to have disappeared though in later releases. Was very handy when troubleshooting with non-technical users.

Here is the Full Explaination 12.1.2015.2015 where the first 2015 is Release Update 2 and second 2015 is the Point patch.

RTM - Release To Manufacturing

MR - Maintenance Release (replaced by RU)

RU - Release Update

MP - Maintenance Patch

PP - Point Patch
