  • 1.  How to obtain ghostcast driver for Intel 82579LM NIC dos base

    I need help:  got a HP 2570p with intel 82579LM, I use ghost boot wizard and do a network boot package, and select ndis2 driver, and I did download the correct driver from intel site, after that create a usb boot, but I got a "unable to start tcp/ip" message, can't get any ip from the server.

    Any suggestion are welcome, thanks.

    Check the driver is correct by comparing the VID & PID in windows of the NIC with that in the .inf file.

    The 82579 chipset has proved particularly challenging for user to get working with both DOS and WinPE drivers. It would be worth a few minutes of your time to search this forum on "82579" as there are various postings with links to drivers.

    finally got it work now, by using winpe boot.
