  • 1.  How to point client to new SEPM server from different Domain

    Hi Guys,

    I have 60 Linux & Windows servers runnning in Domain A and i want to install symantec and point my client to get updates from SEPM server in Domain B, Can you advise on this

     

    I verified i can  ping Domain B's SEPM & Live update servers from Domain A. But no Name resolution

    Do i need to create a A record in  Domain A ? is it enough ?  Please advise

    You can replace the sylink file on clients using the new SEPM, see here:

    For Linux you  need to manually replace:

    Importing client-server communication settings into the Linux client

    as long as you have physical network connectivity you don't have to worry about the DNS records, as SEPM doesn't depend on it. it uses IP, computer name (server) and the FQDN. If any one of the above is configured correctly you don't need to worry.
