  • 1.  How to point Version 10 clients to a version 11 SEPM

    Posted Jun 10, 2013 04:42 PM

We recently migrated our version 11 server to a new server.  We did perform any upgrades; just transitioned to new hardware.  Both databases appeared to be identical prior to the transition.  However, I am noticing several computers that are not showing in the SEPM.  In addition, the clients are outdated - they're running version 10.2.0.298.  Is it possible to point these workstations to the new server, or will it require installing the newer version?

SEPM can only manage SEP clients. You will need to upgrade to SEP.

10.2 is a version from SAV rather than SEP. It is possible to get SAV to forward some logs to the SEPM but that is all. I strongly encourage you to upgrade all endpoints to SEP.

Thanks for your comments.  I wanted to make sure there wasn't an easier method.  Now to go have some fun...  :-)

Just a reminder to anyone still using SAV: please do upgrade to SEP as soon as possible.  That product is no longer supported.  New definitions have been released for SAV 10.x long after support ended, in order to allow admins ample time to migrate.  These are just a courtesy and can be discontinued at any time.

Please do act now in order to remain protected!
