    Hi There,

I am in need of some help so let me give you an idea of the problem.......

I have been asked to encrypt a laptop which is not on our corporate network and never will be. I have been looking at creating a user account on the PGP server, exporting the key and then installing the pgp desktop and importing the key. Is this the best way to do this or am i missing something? Every time I install the PGP Desktop software the software is always looking for a connection to the PGP server and will then not encrypt or do anything.

I have also looked at Trusted keys but I am not sure which way I need to go about this.

Basically I just need some help on how to do it and get it done but I want to make sure that it gets done correctly.

Any help you could give me would be appreciated.

    Many Thanks

First off, I think you posted this in the wrong section since this is for GuardianEdge/SEE products only.

Why don't you install the stand alone version of PGP netshare and create the keys that you need then. Don't use the MSI package that you created within PGP universal server with the preset policies. If you need to create a new package, log into the PGP universal server and go to consumers, groups and download client... Uncheck the customize option and select your platform and download that. Good luck.
