  • 1.  how to push client upgrade without nags or forced reboots??

    Posted Jul 05, 2016 12:51 PM

Planning an upgrade to 12.1.4 MP5 RU6, downloaded last week.

How does one configure the client updates to be:

    1) silent

    2) no nags

    3) no forced reboot

Just download, install, update whenever people restart their computer.

Tried to ask support but they built a case submission that does NOT work.

    Thank you, Tom

    I NEED A SOLUTION.

Why does this forum make it so hard to know how/where to click to edit posts??

In the SEPM, on the Admin page >> Install Packages >> Client Install Settings on the Restart Settings tab set it to 'No restart' and on the Basic Settings tab select the dropdown for 'Silent'

When you export the package just make sure to export with these specific settings.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Symantec community.

Select Silent installation type using No restart option.

    Refer the below screenshot.

    Thank you, everyone!!

This is much better than trying to use the new support site. :)

I did today figure out why the support site sucks -- Symantec didn't update our subscription when we renewed our license this spring.

    Thank you, Tom
