    Posted Dec 05, 2009 02:14 AM
    Dear Sir,

I was using Server/client for Endpoint Protection.  When I used to update the Server - Symantec Endpoint, all the client installted from the server are all getting updated.

But, last week the Server has hardware issue and We had to format the Server and reninstalled Windows Server 2003 and Symantec Endpoint Protection and Endpoint Protection Manger.

When I try to install the clients from the Endpoint Protection Manager (searching the unmanaged) and installation shows Successful.  But the updatation in not getting updated in the client and also the client's name is not showing in the Group (client - Global).

Can anyone tell the how to re-connect the client to new Symantec Endpoint Server And From the client side how will we know that the client is connected to the server.

    Regards,
    Manoj Mathew

Create a new group and export the communication settings.... use that sylink file to replace on the client using sylink replacer... After that all client will appear in the new server...

Do you have the backup of old server
If yes follow the below doc
Best Practices for Disaster Recovery with Symantec Endpoint Protection
If no create the groups as you req. and replace the sylink file in the clients
you can use sylink drop (It is acvailable in CD2) or sylink remote utility for this.

You can replace the sylink.xl file from anyone of the working machines that is reporting to the SEPM. Once the client starts reporting to the SEPM you can move the client to the desired group.
