  • 1.  How to reclaim a Node Licence?

    Hi,

I am using Deployment console Version 6.9 (build 430) Service Pack 3 and I have 27 Node licenses available, if I "Apply a regular licence" to a particular node and then for whatever reason that node is reimaged or decomisioned, how do I then reclaim that node licence back to use on another node?

    Thanks.

In the DS console, if the client has been decommissioned and isn't expected to pop back up on the network with an active agent, you can simply delete the computer from the console and that frees up the license.  If the machine is brought online again, the next time it checks in it will pop back in to the console.  Please note, deleting the computer from the console will delete the entire history of that computer.

If you have machines on your network that you do not want DS6.9 to manage then you can actually "reject" that computer from the DS console. This will keep the license from being applied to that machine. You can also view these rejected computers at a later date if you'd like to allow them to connect at a later date..

Here is how to do it, the first image shows you how to view rejected computers. The second image is a example showing how to reject a machine..
