Created: 09 Sep 2012 | 5 comments

I have so many servers configured within a DAG.

Now 2 of the DAG nodes are bieng decommisioned. I want to remove these 2 DAG nodes from back up poolicy.

Please let know how can i remove these nodes from netbackup.

Do we need to change any thing from exchange server side ??????

Much appreciated if replied at the earliest.

Thanks and regards,

The virtual hostname should be specified in the policy, not physical node names.

If you need to know how to remove a node from Exchange, this is the wrong forum... sorry!

Try Microsoft Support site or MS Exchange Forums.

Eventually removal of orphaned servers are from Exchange team, (if you also handle exchange)

Hope this helps

All you need to do is make sure no DBs are mounted or having Copies of any existing databases in the DAG on those servers you retiring and remove these Nodes from Preffered Servers list. To do that double click on Exchange Policy/cies and click on "Prefered Servers List" botton and delete nodes you need to.
