Hey, Really depending what

Hey,

Really depending what password you want to reset. they are a large number of system users.

The easiest to recover is the local root password, this is a linux machine, so you need to restart the machine in  single user mode by using the edit option in the grub menu and add single.

However you will have some difficulties to recover the cn=root user password from the ldap. As far as I know apart from restoring a backup that you know the password there is no way to do it.

Regarding from Laurent

Regarding from Laurent mention.
- You can recover a OS password by boot into single user mode.  Then you can recover ldap password by retreive your old ldap backup (if it didn't encrypted).

Or you can try to decrypt OS user account password after success to boot into single user mode. Since at first install SSIM provide the same password for OS user account (i.e. root, db2admin, ...)

changing passwords

SSIM should not allow you to boot into single user mode and change passwords.  Or boot with a CD and change passwords.  Have you tried to login with simuser and the original password that was used during installation?
