This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hello all,
i am trying to create a single restore procedurre using Ghost Boot Wizard.
i selected PreOS type as WinPE, followed the wizard with all default settings, using one click Virtual partition.
my image is on d drive and i want to restore C drive/partion image.
Problem:
if i keep my image on network drive, on booting to automation the script does not run.
and if i keep local disk,  the winpe is not identifying drive D.
let me know how to solve the issue.
Also let me know if the is some workaround/or any other tool for this.

my criteria is restoration should be 1 click.

thanks.

consulting services

arjain,

Since this is outside the intended use of the Ghost Solution Suite, I would recommend speaking to Symantec's Professional Services. They could possibly collaborate with you to achieve a custom solution for you. Please call our Licensing Department at 1-888-727-8671.

If you are intending to only

If you are intending to only run your scripts then you definetely need to contact Symantec consulting services. If all you want is to restore image stored on second partition to the first one then you can do the following:

1. Run Ghost boot wizard and follow steps to create one-click VP.
2. On the last Review page click 'Start editing' and instead of running last command ghost32.exe type following command : ghost32 -clone,mode=restore,src=1:2\myimage.gho, dst=1:1 -batch -sure
ASSUMPTION: this is assuming that you have a single disk and partition d: is your second partition and partition c: is your first partition. You can always vefiry partition order with gdisk32, eg. gdisk32 1
3. Click 'Finish editing' and finish package creation.

Cheers.
