Hi,
Thanks for reply,
i have gone through the admin guide, it showing 5 procedures to restore. my concern is what is appropriate out of these five. what i feel is "Running the NetBackup for Oracle Recovery Wizard on the Client" or "Running RMAN on client" will be appropriate. what do u say?
Furthermore My DB size is almost 3TB and i need that much space to restore, since my aim is to test the restore is there any way to minimize the space requirement?

Whichever you prefer, but I like the Oracle Recovery Wizard .
How about selecting several database objects (data files, tablespaces) ? Or restore to another test server.

2. No conflict. And if you
2. No conflict. And if you restore the entire DB, DB must be mounted.
3. You need to create/modify another (restore) script. Refer to the database_restore.sh or the pit_database_restore.sh.
There are example RMAN shell scripts in the following directory:
/usr/openv/netbackup/ext/db_ext/oracle/samples/rman
NetBackup rman
if you type in netbackup rman in google you will see that there are
28,200 entries for netbackup rman restore
48,800 entries for netbackup rman scripts
I'm quite certain you will be able to locate some example restore scripts :-)
