How to restore sharing permissions with BE2010R3

Created: 13 Jun 2013 | 2 comments

hello, i have a desperate need to increase my C: partition.  we are running 2008r2 and would like to get that needed space from the D: drive.  Soooo, i will need to remove the D: partition and then extend my C: partition out, then restore all the data, including the share permissions back to the D: drive.

i have tested a directory and the security permissions come back, no issues... but it won't restore the sharing permissions:(

any advice on what to do about this?

thanks

Backup Exec is unable to restore share permissions. This is stored in the registry of the machine (system-state) but if you restore it, the original folder (on C) will be shared again.

Only thing is to write down the share permissions, and re-apply them to the new share on D.
