  • 1.  How to revert whole disk decription

I have a 230GB disk divided in four partitions that I encrypted one year ago by PGP™ Desktop Version 10.2 for Windows. When I switch on the system I get the grey screen of PGP where I insert the password (I assume it is what you call PGP key). The password is the same of my Windows account and I am an administrator user of my laptop. Now I want to decrypt the whole disk and uninstall PGP but I cannot find in the Symantec site any instruction to do that. What's the fastest and safer way to decrypt the whole disk and remove completely PGP from my system?

    Thank you in advance.

Too many pieces of information. I am confused. I simply need to know which program should I launch to decrypt the whole disk. Step by step instructions.

When I encrypted the disk I launched the PGP Install icon on desktop and followed instruction. To decrypt a disk I expect to launch some user interface, press a button, and let the application work... but WHICH APPLICATION?

Make it simple, for dummies, please.

    Hello,

Decrypting from the GUI of PGP.

    1. Open PGP Desktop

    2. Select PGP Disk tab, left side of the application

    3. Click on Encrypt disk or partition.

    4. Highlight your disk and click on the Decrypt tab at the top right.

    5. PGP will prompt for your passphrase and once entered correctly then decryption will begin.

    6.  While decryption is in process make sure to not shut down your computer or have any power saving options enabled.

If for some reason your hard drive does not start decrypting then make a screenshot of the error and post.  I can give you another step of how to decrypt your hard drive with a different method.

    Thanks

    Anthony
