  • 1.  How to run "Collect Full Inventory" on a single PC

    We are using Symantec Management Console v7.1.

    The "Collect Full Inventory" feature is scheduled to run once a month on Wednesday of week 1 at 12:15.

    How can I run a Full Inventory on single PC without having to wait for the schedule to run?

    1. Go under Jobs & Tasks
    2. Find an appropriate folder to place your new task and Right Click > New Task
    3. Under the Create New Task dialog select Discovery and Inventory > Gather Inventory
    4. In the right panel, give the new task a name and select the appropriate inventory that you're trying to gather.  Click OK to save.
    5. Click the task that you just created (if it's not already selected)
    6. Select Quick Run, search for the Computer ID that you want to schedule again, and click Run

    I did this and ran the Task on a few machines. All it does is say "Waiting for agent to get the task" and it just sits. Any ideas?

    Sorry,

    I think we have Tasks only setup to run during certain hours in the morning, I will check it during those hours tomorrow.
