First ensure that mail is working within OS levele using mailx.

There are couple of options to get the mail:

1) Use ops center
2) For all the failed and successful jobs read the admin guide http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC3650

I agree with sazz - ensure that mailx is working at OS level. The moment you can use mailx as root user to send test email to your company email address, you can add email address in NBU.
Speak to AIX and Linux sysadmins or search online documentation for each OS.

In addition to Admin Guide, I find this TN useful as well: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH64984

I am not familiarize UNIX system.

I saw UNIX send mail on client side that can be used by "USEMAIL" to send. Right?

The following is an example of a client’s bp.conf file:
SERVER = server1
CLIENT_NAME = client1
USEMAIL = abc@bdev.com
COMPRESS_SUFFIX = .Addrs
COMPRESS_SUFFIX = .Counts
VERBOSE = 1
RESTORE_RETRIES = 1
BPBACKUP_POLICY = U1userdir
BPBACKUP_SCHED = userbackups
BPARCHIVE_POLICY = U1userdir
BPARCHIVE_SCHED = userarchives
LOCKED_FILE_ACTION = SKIP

USEMAIL in bp.conf also needs mailx to work at OS level.
As per my previous post, please speak to your OS sysadmins or search online documentation.
Have you had a look yet at Admin Guide I and TN mentioned above?
