  • 1.  How to set the default key for signatures for PGP Zip and E-Mail encryption

    Posted Sep 23, 2014 03:19 AM

    Dear all,

I am working with Symantec Encryption Destop version 10.3.2 MP3 in a scenario in which we have two different private keys avaialble, one personal and a group key.

When creating a PGP zip file I am being asked to select one of the keys to sign the archive. I'd like to define one of the keys as the default key for this singing operation. All files are signed by the same key, and it creates a break in the workflow if I have to select one of the two available private keys each and every time. This used to be possible in previous versions, but I cannot seem to find the relevant option / setting anymore.

Any hint, pointer or idea is greatly appreciated.

    Best regards,

    S.

    Hi, Slartibartfass

You refer to Master Key option available in the PGP a.k.a SED

Please navigate to Tools > Options > Makster Keys  and Add the default one/master one.

If you have got a managed client please make sure that you can get access to Options menu from client side so in this case on your server you should allow the following option:

SEMS > Consumers > Consumer Policy > General

    "Allow users to change options"

    Hi!

I am able to set the Master Key (I actually have both of the keys set as master keys to enable others to access the encrypted files stored on our file systems.), I have not yet been able to set one of the keys as the default key for signing. This releates to the step *after* the key selection for the encryption.

    Best regards,

    S.

    Hi,

If you are refering to an Organization Settings / Corporate Signing Key I am not aware about possibility to change this except below information:

Have a look into this thread:

    and this KB:
