How to set (Remove) Edit rights on custom reports?

Created: 13 Dec 2012 • Updated: 14 Dec 2012 | 2 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.

I have been unable to locate the permission to remove the the edit ability from custom reports for specific security roles, anyone have an idea? We have several roles in our organization where we want the associate to be able to run the report but not edit by mistake. Thanks in advance...

Hi,

Under privileges, you can only let the user create or not create reports. If you want to block him/her from editing a report, under permissions, check/uncheck the "Write" option to allow edit/deny edit respectively. Also, make sure you select the correct parent folder i.e Reports or a sub folder. Attaching a pic to make it simpler.

Let me know if it helps.

Thank you for the quick and descriptive (screenshot) response it was a great help.  I checked the report permissions for the role in question and the “write” permission was not checked. So I clicked <Advanced> and saw that I was inheriting the “write” permission from another role, once unchecked the ability to <Edit> was removed.

Thanks again
