How to start "Meta Data Index"

I am backing up Exchange 2010 with GRT. Somehow the job "Meta Data Index" does not exist. How can I create this job?
Without this I am not able to restore individual files from Exchange.

Metadata indexing happens with the catalog job which runs automatically post the GRT backup...
What is the error you receive when you are attempting a restore ? And restore from disk / tape ? Is Exchange virtualized ?
Hmm somehow for me the job does not start automatically.
So I can only restore the whole DB and not idividual files from the Exchange db.
