I want to submit a file to Software Whitelisting Request.

But the size of the file is over 100 MB.

Could I use Symantec FTP ?

If yes, could you please let me know the detail of FTP ?

What if the file I need to submit is larger than 100 MB?

A. Malicious files are generally (but not always!) smaller than that.  For large files, check with Tech Support.  They can supply instructions on how to proceed.

Note that this whitelisting portal is open for BCS customers and will require up to a week to process files.  Please allow ample time!  If the software is already publically available and is being detected by Symantec products, use the False Positive portal instead.

Thanks for the post.  Is the large file being detected now, or are you proactively submitting it to the whitelisting portal ahead of its public release?

Here are some details on the whitelisting program:

The FTP site that you mention is not in use for whitelisting, only for diagnostics, logs and other materials.  Anything that is intended to go into Security Response will very likely be deleted from it as a security precaution.

I will try to submit a file to the whitelist portal ahead of its public release.

I got advice from Support.
I was told that a large file should be divided to a few small files.
And I must submit the files with describing the file number and a method for combination.

Excellent, tutie!  That is the correct approach.

Feel free to PM me the reference numbers that you receive upon submission, or communicate them to the Tech Support engineer that you are working with.  We can make sure that everything is recombined correctly at Symantec's end.

I am trying to upload files.
But, after a 1st file was uploaded I could not recieve a submission mail from symantec yet.

I am contacting with Support about this.

I had submitted files to Symantec.
I got submission mails about 20 hour later.
And, my Whitelist Request is approved.
